KeyCommerce completes development of Clinical Decision Support Intranet
Nashua, NH — March 26, 2002—KeyCommerce, Inc., an emerging leader in collaborative and transactional software solutions, today announced the completion of an Intranet solution for the UMassMemorial Health Center (UMMHC), in Worcester, MA.
The Intranet Solution dubbed DiagnosisOne, will provide Diagnostic Decision Support tools for the over 1,400 physicians that are part of the UMassMemorial Health system in central Massachusetts.
“This robust application allows us to provide our physicians with the latest information on Diagnostic Testing and relates it to both Signs and Symptoms as well as potential Conditions,” said Dr. Michael Snyder, Chairman of Hospital Labs at UMMHC. “We expect that this system will save our hospital significant sums of money, resulting in an ROI of well under a year.” He added “ This is just the first step our plan to make UMMHC the leader in medical informatics related to diagnostic testing.”
While developing the DiagnosisOne Intranet, KeyCommerce worked closely with physicians at UMMHC Labs. This close association allowed KeyCommerce to deliver the system on time and on budget and produced a system that has been very well received at UMMHC. According to Ahmad Kasmieh, CTO and co-founder of KeyCommerce, “We had a significant challenge with respect to creating both the system’s front and back ends such that the physicians updating the content would find it intuitive and straight forward while at the same time making it easy for the practicing physician to quickly locate information in the front end.”
